Thoughtful Houswarming Gifts for new neighbors

Welcome your new neighbors with a housewarming gift that will make their transition a little more enjoyable. Skip the knickknacks and store-bought cookies for something they will appreciate and use.

Pre-made Meals
The stress of moving often sends people to the drive-thru, or causes people to skip meals altogether. Bring a hot meal in a resealable container to allow the new family a chance to eat a home-cooked meal without messy prep or clean up.

Locally themed gifts
Most homeowners appreciate getting to know their new community. Items that feature nearby historical sites, professional sports tem mascots or even the state flower will make a friendly impact. Stay away from large decorative items like wall hangings, especially if you are unsure of the homeowner's personal style and taste.

Perennial Plants
Bring a little greenery into your new neighbor's home with a potted plant that can be easily cared for, and eventually transitioned outside. Perennial plants make a nice landscaping staple that will bring color to the yard without causing the homeowner any extra work.

Candles
Give the gift of scent to add ambience to any new home. Opt for a clean and relaxing scent like eucalyptus or lavender to help create a sense of calm during what is likely a hectic time.
